Prenatal massage focuses on addressing the special needs of expecting women. Changes in hormonal levels, from conception through delivery may lead to increased swelling, fatigue, and sometimes anxiety. As the baby grows, a shift in the mother’s center of gravity results in tension to her musculo-skeletal system. Prenatal massage helps alleviate and minimize many of these common discomforts. Specially-designed massage tables, cushions, and side-lying postures are used to prevent putting pressure on the abdomen.

Sports massage is a form of bodywork geared toward participants in athletics. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in an optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries. Sports massage concentrates on increasing motion and flexibility, relieving muscle soreness, and promoting a quick recovery from muscle overuse. This form of massage incorporates passive and assisted stretching.

Cupping Therapy is performed by applying “reverse pressure” to the body, via glass or plastic suction cups that are generally placed or massaged along problem areas, in the direction of natural lymphatic flow. Relief is experienced as the cup pulls the fascia away from the muscle, relaxing it, by breaking down adhesions and knots by helping to increase fluid circulation. This technique helps reduce the buildup of cellular waste, toxins, inflammation, and excess fluids by assisting in dragging them from deep within muscles or soft tissue to the body’s surface, where they can be more efficiently disposed of via the lymphatic system. Cupping may result in skin discoloration that may last a few hours to a couple of days.

Facial cupping is a form of noninvasive treatment that can minimize the effects of aging, sun, and environmental damage. Small cups apply “negative pressure” to lift the facial tissue.
